A man in a grey suit
petting a black dog
soon he is joined by another man
and his purple mini-van
he has come to take
his daughter to school.
She gets in the car
with her backpack on
the man in the grey suit
lights a cigarette
the other man and his daughter
and the purple mini-van
drive away
grey suit remains
content
to just stand there and smoke
and pet the dog
but only occasionally
“A devotee,” he says.
